Match Report
Harrogate Ladies' College and Highfield Prep Highfield U11 Lightning vs  Brackenfield School
On: Friday, 16 Nov 2018
Venue: at Home

The Under 11's played their second match of the term in a rearranged fixture against Brackenfield. The game was a fantastic learning opportunity for the girls allowing them to put into practice many things that had been learning in lessons.

Katie and Selin reacted quickly to side line throws and free passes, creating space for themselves and team mates to work within. Kitty and Whizzy made efforts to put pressure on the ball as it transitioned down court. Shooters Ruth and Grace made the most of the support from the C and WA and began to use their back-up or reset option to retain possession, ensuring attacking play was calmer and more controlled.

Connie Tasker joined us in defence, taking many intercepts and growing in confidence as she repeatedly denied the opposition possession. Phoebe Turner demonstrated her tigger-like qualities in interception and gymnastic balance in controlled landings.

Georgina graciously played for the opposition to cover an injury within their team. She played well in attack and proved to be a challenge for our own defence.

Overall, play was positive, with the girls learning more about the rule of 'footwork' in the circle and about 'short-passes'. Hopefully they will continue to build on their current form.
